Jumping Stewarding Course held at Phoenix Riders Stable

Phoenix Riders Stable, March 21–23, 2025 — A Jumping Stewarding Course was successfully conducted over three enriching days at the Phoenix Riders Stable, drawing equestrian enthusiasts and professionals from across the region. The course, which ran from March 21 to 23, was an intensive program designed to educate and certify stewards in the discipline of show jumping, in alignment with international standards.

Led by experienced officials, the course combined theory sessions with practical training, ensuring that participants received a comprehensive understanding of the steward’s critical role in maintaining fairness, safety, and compliance in jumping competitions.

A Blend of Theory and Practice

The first two days of the course focused on classroom-based learning, where participants delved into FEI rules and regulations, horse welfare, competition protocols, and the steward’s responsibilities during events. The sessions encouraged interactive discussion, fostering an engaging and collaborative learning environment.

The final day brought participants out into the arena, where hands-on scenarios were simulated. These practical exercises included tack checks, warm-up arena supervision, and handling real-time issues that may arise during competitions. This blend of theory and fieldwork gave participants a well-rounded experience and helped them build confidence in applying their knowledge effectively.

High Standards and Positive Feedback

Attendees praised both the content and the structure of the course. “It was incredibly insightful and well-organized” said one participant. “The instructors were very knowledgeable and gave us real-world examples that helped put everything into perspective.

A Step Forward for Equestrian Sport

With the successful completion of this stewarding course, a new wave of certified jumping stewards is set to contribute to the growth and professionalism of equestrian sport in the region. The organizers hope to continue offering similar educational opportunities in the future to support the development of equestrian officials and uphold the integrity of the sport.
