Seminar Description: FEI 4* Course Designer Werner Deeg

The insightful seminar led by renowned FEI 4* Course Designer Werner Deeg, an authoritarian figure in equestrian course design with decades of experience in shaping challenges for riders and horses worldwide, was held between 28-30 November in the Phoenix Riders stable.

This seminar offered a deep dive into the art and science of course design, emphasizing strategies that balance technical difficulty with safety, fairness, and excitement for participants and spectators alike. The theoretical aspects were combined with practical exercises and course walking demonstrations.

The seminar ended with one final challenge: the participants had the opportunity to compete in our one day show to make a practical use of the knowledge they’ve acquired in the past days.
